Bhubaneswar 26/11: Children are the powerhouse of energy. If their energy are fully utilized
and they work hard then they will successfully overcome the challenges of the life was said by
the Former Acting Chief Justice of Odisha High Court Dr. Sanju Panda Joining as Chief Guest in
the National Consultation and Stakeholders Convergence Meeting for Ending Child Sexual
Abuse organized at Bhubaneswar. Seniors must take care of Juniors and it is the duty of elders
to give them protection from sexual abuse, exploitation and violence was emphasized by
Justice Panda. A two days National Consultation for Ending Child Sexual Abuse and exploitation
was inaugurated at Hotel Excellency, Bhubaneswar on 26th Nov. 2022. This consultation was
organized by National Action Coordination Group for Ending Violence against Children (NACG
EVAC) India, & it’s National Secretariat People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), in collaboration with
BMZ, WVG , WVI, in association with ABHAS, ADF, ADARSH, AV BALIGA TRUST, EKTA, HELP,
MIHY, OPEN LEARNING SYSTEM, RARE, SAHARA, SHELTER, SIPD AND VHAI, Delegates from 25
different states and Union Territories from both Govt. and Non Govt. Organisation participated
in this National Consultation.
Joining the Ianugural session Mandakini Kar, Chairperson, Odisha State Commission for
Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) said the children should raise their voice against all types of
violence and the parents also should listen to them. She also briefed about the activities of
Government doing for the protection of children. Presiding the inaugural session Ranjan Kumar
Mohanty, Chairperson, NACG EVAC India stated we all need to work jointly to built a safe and
protective environment for our children. A safe and protective environment is the basic right of
every child. He also gave a brief note about the activities of NACG EVAC India doing for the child
protection. Mikhael Pradhan, Head Advocacy, World Vision, India gave the welcome note and
shared the purpose of this workshop. Prakash Rath, Convenor, NACG EVAC, Odisha Chapter also
spoke on this occasion. In this consultation Child delegates Jiva, Dibya, Aslam, Aryan and
Soumya presented the recommendation of children which was prepared by 65 children
representatives from 12 different states in the national consultation of children organised on
24 th and 25 th Nov. Aditi Kaur, Thematic Head, Child Participation presented the English
translation of the recommendation. Vote of thanks was given by Sanjay Misha, Treasurer, NACG
EVAC India. This consultation will continue for two days and valedictory session will be held
tomorrow at 3:30pm. A panel discussion of children was also organized after the inaugural
session by taking the children from 10 different states and it was moderated by Milonee Mishra
of Odisha.
